Ciao ragazzi, itsa my first Italian bike! Itsa Moto Guzzi!
I bought this bike in spring of 2017. I wanted to have something to go to work with, so I it didn’t have to be powerful. But I did want it to be a naked and kinda good looking. So itsa Moto Guzzi!
This bike suits me great. The seat height is 785mm and weight is under 200kg, so it’s so easy to manuever, it’s wonderful! For those of you who don’t know, Moto Guzzis are noted for their air-cooled 90° V-twin engines with a longitudinal crankshaft orientation where the engines’ transverse cylinder heads project prominently on either side of the motorcycle. It looks awesome!
When I heard the engine for the first time it made my panties a little wet. It is a V engine so it sounds like a chopper. But it has a body of a naked and the engine is turned by 90°.
I love classic naked bikes for everyday use so this makes it ideal for me, but anybody who buys it will love it’s sound and the uniqueness that comes with a Guzzi engine.
This is my first bike with a cardan shaft and I must admit I am not a big fan. I like that that it is protected and low maintenance but I also feel that power transmission from the engine to the rear wheel has a certain delay, specially when you crank the throttle – it just takes its time.
Anyway, let’s sum up the bike!
- the sound
- 90° V-twin engine
- great looks
- great finish
- chopper shake
- seat is kind of uncomfortable
- cardan shaft power transmission with a delay
- only 35kW makes it unusable on the highway
- bike wobbles because of the boxer engine, so don’t let go of the steering wheel or you will die
I would give this bike a score of 6.5/10
Regardless of the negative stuff, I like this bike and would recommend it for daily commutes, but not touring or speeds.
